Bluebells in Woolley Wood
We knew the weather forecast was for a sunny morning followed by chill winds and probable showers later, so we went out straight after breakfast. Woolley Wood is on the NE edge of Sheffield; it's a small area of woodland, sandwiched between a busy main road and a large park. It's well-known for its bluebell display, but we've never explored it before.
Sure enough, there were bright carpets of bluebells under the trees. And as the leaves are only coming out slowly, the light was filtering through very nicely too. Keeping me company was a generous act on Richard's behalf, as he struggles with hay fever in any pollen-rich environment.
Then we came back.... got on with some household jobs... and enjoyed various catch-up phone and videocalls with old friends. I did a few quick jobs in the garden, but it's still too cold to really get on with much out there.
