The accidental finding

Canalside cottage, Brimscombe Port

GG had long expressed a desire to walk along the canal to the east of Stroud. I'd resisted because of the number of other walkers, dog walkers and cyclists around on a Sunday, but today we decided to risk it.

We retraced my steps from yesterday. The canal bookshop was closed (they're missing a trick there, but it's run by volunteers) but the hatch for Stroud Brewery takeaways was open, and GG wanted to stop for a toasted sandwich and a drink. We did that (Chorizo, parmesan and rocket on gf bread), then walked on past Brimscombe port to the Felt Cafe, which appears to be my home from home right now. After refreshing ourselves there, we walked back and stopped along the way at a strange garage sale. GG got a handbag and matching purse, a floaty outfit and a lipstick purse for £1. I got a stained handbag, a town map of Swindon, a spare carving fork and a sink strainer for 50p. We tried to donate more, but the chatty woman wouldn't accept more and kept trying to give us change. Lockdown...

Back at my house (14,000 steps more or less) GG decided to forgo watching Hamlet for our course and do some gardening. She went home, clutching some birthday pressies for tomorrow, and I did some high quality lounging in the hammock in the garden.

CleanSteve came home from Frampton Lake, where he had been rained on (we had sunshine all day!) and all was well in our world until Bomble got annoyed with us for not feeding him every five minutes, and peed all over the bin and the floor. He got me very angry.

I'm off to calm down now before Line of Duty, the series finale. What can the ending reveal? Is it really even the end?
