LD 405. Sunday on the Old Course.
Not golfing but walking. A regular Sunday walk for us when here for many years. Most Sundays there’s no play on the Course. Visitors must find it strange, especially international ones - I can’t imagine that you can randomly walk on the Augusta National course or the likes of Valderrama!
Before dinner we walked between the fields. And had a word with someone we’ve not seen this year. She’d had covid as did her husband, who ended up in hospital. They’re getting over it, although have signs of long covid. 146 new cases in Scotland, low hospital numbers and again zero deaths. Some large scale pilot events with testing and no social distancing on in Liverpool - music festival etc this weekend. And U.K. Government appear to be moving away from isolation (NHS research shows many don’t as can’t afford to) to a home testing regime. I’d like to have seen more vaccinated beforehand. Scotland has tended to make haste more slowly.
Did some successful online banking. And ordered plants from a local nursery - those he supplied last year were very good and the money went straight to the family and couple of employees.
Our younger son played golf in a competition, a guest of his girlfriend’s father. Went well. Our older son and fiancé travelled to the west coast to see her Granny; not seen her in so long. They sent nice typical west coast photos.
Forecast is poor. Wet and cold.
