Imminent Swarm

We struck out for new footpaths this afternoon, finding plenty but also seeing one that was completely impassable – blocked with double fences and plenty of brambly vegetation.  So we went retraced our steps and found these smokers.

We stopped to chat when they weren't busy; it seems that the hive was about to swarm, but I hesitated to ask what that meant or if it was a good thing.

They were very friendly and realised that we were the people who had moved into "Edna's place".  We will be known by that for some time to come, we feel.
