Honeycomb worm reef
The beach where we live is abundant with these. So much so that I take them for granted. But if you take a closer look they are an amazing structure. The Honeycomb worm is a reef-building worm. Each worm builds itself a protective tube from sand and shell fragments, which together form a reef that looks that looks like honeycomb. Each little hole is where the worm lives and feeds. They are amazing.
