What will we do on Sunday evenings now?

A lot of debate about the final episode last night. I have seen some interesting ideas about the denouement being a political metaphor for our times, which perhaps explained why it wasn't quite the satisfying television climax we were all hoping for. Or had the programme creators simply painted themselves into a corner they weren't able to escape from?
