A BIG THANK YOU ....

.... to everyone who contributed to placing yesterday’s birthday blip on the first Popular Page, you are a generous group of friends. I can’t reply to you all individually it would take me too long, but every comment is appreciated.

I was up early after last night’s heavy rain to see if any butterflies were crawling up stems to warm themselves in the sunshine, when I saw this Late Spider Orchid just visible in the long grass (front view in extra). The Early Spider Orchid (blipped on 16th April) grows in the same area in our village and they are quite similar in form. People come from miles around to try to photograph them.
