Gold again!
Our very kind neighbours came over yesterday to share their persimmons with us - these fruit were ripening on the sunnier side of their place, where we couldn't see them. Their colours are yellowy/orange with a little green still, and this type are to be eaten when red and soft (otherwise they'll sting you with tartness!). I'm sure there'll be a blip to come when that stage comes - unless, of course, we've been unable to resist gobbling them up beforehand!
