It was not . . .
. . . the day for taking lovely shots of the hills across Windermere. But then it was not the day for doing anything really - wet, cold and generally miserable.
High Pike (no point giving a link as he appears to have given up blipping!) was doing a course in Staveley - a cookery course on knife skills. This was my Christmas present to him, so I hoped it was good. He emerged with a jointed chicken, a filleted fish and heaps of hints and tips . . . and of course the need to buy a new knife. Fantastic! Was the verdict. Oh that's all right then.
As soon as he had finished, we hurried on to Keswick for our only visit to Words on the Water. We listened to Polly Toynbee and David Walker give their verdict on the current government. I will avoid getting too political. Suffice to say the verdict is not good, we agree with every word . . . and so it seemed did the surprisingly large theatre audience.
Oh and did I mention that it has rained . . . all day!
