Gnarly

Beauty can be found in the rough and twisted. 
The knotted and bumpy can be more interesting than the smooth and secure.
One has to look at one's surroundings from the perspective of one's circumstances (and the other way round)

We went for a short walk to look at the blue bells. There were much less than in previous years. The forest floor was covered in brambles instead. 

The weather was overcast and windy.
