Hello - goodbye

This was a day that began well and went ... downhill. For some reason I woke at 5.30am to see this marvellous streak of fire on the horizon to the northeast and yes, I was unable to resist. Yet another early morning hing out of the window to get a photo. The supermarket car park lights are on for the early shift, but the town is silent but for the birds.

The rain started while I was doing my Pilates class; by early afternoon it was battering the front of the house in an easterly near-gale. My pal and I went a walk through the forest which is steadily diminishing. It didn’t end well.

Surely today will be better?*
