Family
Having made a start on the WRAP year end accounts this morning I needed to get out this afternoon, regardless of the very iffy weather. We decided on a drive out to Fisherman's Car Park and a walk from there. Unfortunately a beeping sound and ominous dashboard light on starting up the car indicated we had a slow puncture. So a change of plans and a slow drive to ETB on Masons Road to have the tyres checked. The car has only done 700 miles so far so it certainly wasn't wear and tear. The garage soon confirmed that a small nail had gone into one of the tyres, luckily not too far and the puncture was fixable without changing the tyre.
We left the car there for half an hour and took a walk down the canal towards the Premier Inn. The female of the pair of swans that live on this stretch of the canal was off her nest and we could see the pair by the bank someway down. I guessed she had hatched her brood and sure enough the proud parents were keeping a wary eye on four fluffy youngsters.
I managed to get some shots without alarming the defensive male. I've put a pic of the four babies in the extras.
The theme for today's Tiny Tuesday hosted by freespiral is Bealtaine; what better way to welcome the summer than with new life, even if the weather hasn't caught up with the seasons yet!
