Marsh Marigold
We bought this Marsh Marigold (Caltha palustris) last year to grow beside the tiny pond we'd constructed in our back garden on Good Friday in the first few weeks of the first lockdown.
The pond is basically a plastic tray (the base of an old rabbit cage) set into the ground: having steep plastic sides it doesn't create the kind of boggy ground beside the pond that Marsh Marigolds love (hence the name!).
We thought the plant had died, but we transplanted its remains into a cool shady flowerbed on the north side of our garden shed, where it clearly found a new lease of life.
