Storm

Another stay home, or else go out and get soaked, situation for most of the day until eventually we took the chance at around 6pm. We had got coats and wellies on twice before but were forced back into the house each time by sudden downpours.

The wind had died down a lot by early afternoon but came back for an hour or so around 4 o'clock, bringing with it hail and very heavy rain.

So off we went eventually as the sun was shining through broken cloud and the light was beautiful Over towards Ilmington Hill we could see that they were having more rain but were sure that it was passing us by.

However, within five minutes the clouds had not only banked up but also turning black and looking very menacing so after another half mile or so and with rain starting to fall we once again retreated to the safety of home.

No sooner had we got there than the heavens opened yet again and another heavy shower was lashing on the skylight windows in the sunroom for ten minutes or more. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
