Cygnets on Union Canal
This morning's run was along the Union Canal. We turned off at Redhall Park and came back via the Dell. I had my first sighting of the season of a male and female swan with their seven cygents. I think these may be 'mute swans' as they have an orange bill and black knob. Mute swans typically mate for life. The cygnets have grey down just now and this gradually gets replaced with brown feathers when they're about 6 weeks old.
Bowls this afternoon - it's the first time I've played in hail showers. Fortunately we persevered as it really brightened up.
