Today's the day ......................... for pictures in an Exhibition

So good to go to the Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries today where there was an exhibition about the life and art of the Scottish painter, Joan Eardley.

There were also lots of photographs taken by Audrey Walker, a great friend of Joan, of her at work in her studio in Glasgow and of the children that inspired her classic paintings and sketches.  There are several paintings on display from Gracefield's own collection - and also ones lent from the estate of Audrey Walker.  In extras are 'The Stubble Field', one of her later landscapes of the Catterline area, Aberdeenshire - and 'Brian and Pat Samson', two members of the Samson Family that often featured in her Glasgow works.

It was a real treat to be out and about - and to spend time in this excellently put together little exhibition .......................
