A day out
to Fort William to collect a donation of cat food for Cats Protection. Morrison’s in FW phoned last week to say they had an end of line box of cat food, the kind woman said it would fit into a boot of a car. I wasn’t sure how to visualise this and J and I decided to collect the food ourselves and pleased we did.
The weather was reasonable and nowhere felt busy, a lovely day passing beautiful scenery. Although we had taken food for lunch a coffee was calling and a kindly traffic warden, (he didn’t give us a ticket, apparently he was entitled to eeek*), suggested a new cafe called Rain, we had a tasty soup with sourdough bread with a decaf coffee and oat milk, the cafe only opened three days ago. Our home made lunch will keep until tomorrow.
* We travelled in the e car which needed a top up in FW, John has an app which found the one rapid charge point easily. A car was already on the machine and we had to wait. In order to comply we bought a car park ticket, although decided to park in a spare bay next the charge point, to queue up I suppose. Hmnnn apparently this bay was also for charging although out of order. Although we had bought a parking ticket, not cheap, it was wrong to park in this spot, not obvious, they usually have an outline of a car with a plug. The traffic warden was fine had a good chat and off he disappeared. We live and learn. Later we spotted any number of yellow stickers when walking into the centre.
Note
When charging a car a car park ticket otherwise one should be bought. If we had known the best thing would be not to buy a ticket and sit in the car until the point is free, maximum time would be around 25 minutes although we rarely have to wait more than 15.
Extras
If you have managed to read through this diatribe the mallards sat patiently outside Morrison’s and had to be photographed. The main blip is covered in wool and parked on the Main Street.
