Berberis Darwinii

This is a lovely shrub/mini tree. But it does have little thorny leaves that tended to drop all over the lawn. Very uncomfortable if you sat on them! So when we first moved here nearly 7 years ago, we cut it down to the ground with regret. But it wasn’t to be defeated and now grows as a much more useful hedge between our garden and the next.
