Weed bin sorted

Same as last Wednesday. Joe Wicks, allotment, lunch, walk, Susan up at her mums, dinner, watch a bit of TV.

A big task completed at the allotment as, after 4 sessions I finally finished moving a great mound of soil from one bin to another and clear all the area around the compost bins. This particular bin contained the accumulated weeds from at least 8 years. I’ve turned it over into an adjacent, smaller bin leaving me with a cleared bin for next year’s compost.

The weeds have rotted down to really good looking soil but I’m very reluctant to go spreading it around the plot as who knows what weed seed are lurking in there. What do you think Maurice1948? Or anyone else?

We dodged some pretty rumbustious showers this afternoon while out walking. Thunder and lightning could be seen to the west but we escaped any rain until we were safely home. Then we had about an hour or so. Wetted the ground really, nothing significant, disappointing as we missed out on any decent rain on Monday too. I was concerned there may be a frost tonight so earthed up the spuds into an even higher ridge.
