Choices

Two trips today. One to B&Q to get building and sharp sand as more work is about to start. This time in the front garden repairing the wall between ourselves and our adjoining neighbour in preparation for a fence going in.

The choice of designs for the fence is massive and we need to agree how we narrow it down. When you look around no two fences are the same!

The second trip was to Falkirk to look for an outfit for my wife ahead of our daughter’s wedding in a few months time. A huge range of designs and materials. My role was to provide advice and to act as a clothes horse. On this occasion various swatches of materials were laid out. ( None of these were chosen but they made for a bright blip.)

It was a mixed experience travelling on the M9 out of Edinburgh. At one level it was easy and natural like the many times I’ve done it previously. On another it was remarkable that I’d not driven the road for over a year and the sight of the Ochils capped with snow was so refreshing. The skyscapes were different especially as we drove through sleet and saw ominous dark clouds dripping with sheets of rain and snow.

Fortunately we avoided the showers and made good progress with the outfit options. Not quite there yet but feeling confident.
