vetkoek

this is vetkoek, a traditional afrikaner dish cooked for us by robert and lea tonight. it translates as 'fat cake' and is basically like savoury donut dough with whatever filling you like - but often mince. we had it with mince, butter and cheese, and it was lovely! it would seem that in this case, scottish and south african tastes are quite similar!

then we fought to the death at bananagrams...
