Lest we forget
We had lunch at the Soldiers Club today, scouting out its possibilities as a venue for my father-in-law's 91st birthday party later in the month. An old Digger, he fought in Borneo in World War II. We're planning, too, to drive him up to Inverell, in northern NSW, next month so he can take part in this year's ANZAC Day March, and hopefully meet surviving veterans who signed up with him there those many years ago.
The World War I Light Horseman featuring in the blip stands behind glass at one of the Soldiers Club's entrances as a permanent exhibit.
