A day for ducks
at the Frances Short pond (extra) in Flagstaff.
An osprey (or was it a young eagle?) flew over and away as I arrived. Grackles were making a lot of grackle noise courting in the trees. There were ducks and a heron on the island. I snapped the heron from afar and when I zoomed in on that snap I saw what looked like turtles at the feet of the heron. I managed to get close enough to a duck (hybrid?) by the path to make a fairly decent blip.
Another long and hot, 90°F (32°C), day. Warmest day in the mountains so far this year.
