Dressed to Match

It felt positively balmy this morning even though it was only a scant 7°. The temperature went up when the sun appeared and dropped when we had a heavy hail shower.
The rain and hail yesterday has wrought havoc with the cherry trees and there were many twigs heavy with blossom broken off and lying on the ground.

I made marmalade this afternoon and yes I cheated and used a tin of prepared Seville oranges. I can’t remember when I last made jam. It’s never been required on an industrial scale since the children left the nest and I have been quite happy to buy the odd pot when needed. However bought marmalade is never the same as the homemade variety and so I put my unsullied jam pan to proper use today to make 6lbs of thick cut deliciousness.
