Night Out in Barnsley (back blip for yesterday)

This imposing edifice is Barnsley Town Hall. Last night, when this photo was taken, it was moonlighting as an obstacle between Sharon and my hotel, and the gig that were trying to get to (Duke Special at the Civic, which was predictably excellent). I like the way that the purple and blue colours lighting up the tower are reflected in the damp pavement along with the streetlights; I'm a sucker for interesting and unusual lighting effects.

Later, as we were walking back, it snowed lightly on us and the snowflakes outside our Premier Inn window looked like falling purple sparks.
