Up South

For some reason, when you go south to South Uist, it is always referred to as going up to South Uist. I've never quite worked out why!
Some say that Uist doesn't really do mountains. Of all the views here, this one helps shows that it does.
The Howmore river is just about the biggest river on Uist and the horse-shoe of hills behind it is fittingly the largest and highest mountains here too.
