Fighting Grebes
From the hide in Villeneuve this afternoon, we watched Grebe couples fighting each other (see extra) for nesting space, squaring up two against two. It was fascinating to watch and very noisy. Also saw two Cygnets heading into the water for the first time. It was quite a drop down from the nest so I am not sure they will be able to get back to it.
We decide mid- afternoon to head down to Noville in the campervan and spend the night there, mainly to get out of the rain. We had an apéro on a jetty overlooking Lake Geneva and whilst it wasn’t very sunny it was warm enough to sit out (which is just as well as we still can’t sit inside restaurants).
The light around sunset was beautiful. See extra.
