Boat of Cromdale Bridge
A least the third bridge across the Spey by Cromdale Church, this box girder bridge replaces 2 earlier suspension bridges, both of which collapsed, and was built in 1922 by Dorman Long who also built the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
During a short walk along the river Bank we noted several ribes bushes ( possibly red currant) coming into flower, celandine, wood anemones and frothy sweet cicely flowers just opening. There was a handsome goosander and a mallard on the river, gulls, swallows and martins were flying over the water and we were delighted by an excellent view of a willow warbler carolling from an alder on the bank.
