I thought this would be an interesting contrast to yesterday’s picture of unknown box on a post. It’s the call box on a pelican crossing. I find this one strangely placed because it’s just after a bend in the road but, I guess, a lot of people want to cross here and so it’s safer than not having one. I discovered recently that the green walking figure that lights up to indicate pedestrians should cross is usually shown for 4-7 seconds. The flashing green figure that accompanies the flashing amber symbol for drivers can be blinking for up to 18 seconds. It doesn’t sound a long time to cross the road, does it?
