Hanging On

It must be clear to some
that they can never have
another Perfect Day.
 
No more drinking Sangria in the park
or feeding animals at the zoo…
 
But we prop them up on pillows,
spoon feed them, drip feed them,
give them pills to swallow.
 
We just keep them hanging on,
