What’s Going On
Beggared if I know. The day started normally enough. Mrs C and I both had a PT session this morning, followed by a spot of lunch. Then she said she wanted to go to Sainsbury’s for a “couple of things”. As I was bored, I went along for the ride. Once instore, she headed down to Argos to pick up desk lamp and then bought four pints of full fat milk. And that was all she wanted.
I knew she was doing a lot more work in the study these days, so that explained the desk light. But I only drink skimmed milk and she only drinks lactose free milk so I was puzzled as to what a big bottle of the blue stuff could be for. When we arrived home, she asked me to get a Pyrex dish down for her, so the penny dropped - obviously she was going to do some baking.
So you can, perhaps, understand my sense of puzzlement when this was the sight that greeted me fifteen minutes later, when I went into the kitchen. I looked at her quizzically and she told me that she’d put glycerine and water on the petals. Factually correct though that statement might be, it in no way explained what the hell was going on. Years of experience have taught me that the best course of action at this juncture was to just quietly withdraw to another room and hope that a photo will appear on social media later which will make sense of what I’ve seen.
I went back to the Frank Zappa documentary I’d been watching. Previously, I’ve found Mr Zappa’s work to be a little too weird for my tastes. But now, he seems to be quite a level headed chap with many interesting musical ideas...
