Day out
She woke at 5am after spending the night wrapped around me as much as possible. At 5am she sat up and said "do you want to hear a fact?". We had strawberries and hot chocolate in bed with an early morning movie. We chatted for a long time. She told me the solution for the horrible piano teacher. We talked about some communication issues. She talked about her assessments. We chatted about how she feels about the next few weeks (very happy now she's seen mama).
COVID hotel rules mean breakfast is a "in the bag, delivered at the door, cardboard bowls" picnic. She found it very amusing.
We drove to Glastonbury by 9. We walked up to the Tor and back down again then round, back up and back down... We even managed to stay standing in the gale force wind. We then walked into Glastonbury, wandered and she picked a few books plus a little rainbow souvenir.
She asked late morning to go back to Wells. She wanted to wander round with mama. Which we did after a car picnic. She continued her non stop chattering and nonstop cuddling and grinning at me. "I'm just so glad you came, mama". We explored the gorgeous hogwarts-esque cathedral. We spent a lovely couple of hours with Nia, filling the girls up with posh flapjack (seriously, flapjack sound boring... This is from a place called the flapjackery. The girls pieces both came with layers of fudge!). We had a long time in the park, the kids charging round delightedly. Come 3.30, Katie asked to go back to the boarding house.
I can't ask for more than that really, can I?
Some extras today. I'm so proud of how well she's doing, even with all the wobbly moments.
