Rose Pruning

I have spent the past two days pruning roses for a friend of ours. They have a new houses with a garden that is beautiful, but requires a lot of upkeep and they have two young kids under 6 and two jobs, so not a lot of time to spend on the garden. So I offered to help out.
The top photo is of the pruning job I did yesterday, taken after I’d finished! Disappointingly, I didn’t think to take a photo before I started. It was so satisfying to see the transformation! The lower two are the before and after of the other rose bushes I tackled today. Not such a satisfying result because they are a different kind of rose and require pruning before they start flowering. So it was more difficult.
