Last Pier!

We did it. We set the LAST pier. The day didn’t start as planned. The new post hole digger broke the welds the moment it lifted the auger off the ground... so, rather than return the entire unit, we had to call around to replace the U-Shaft. Then we realized it didn’t have gear oil, needed a gallon of that. Topped it all off, ready to drill.... we found a rock the size of the hole (12” diameter). Broke the sheer bolt off - which is what it’s designed to do when met with resistance. (The borrowed one had a grade 8 bolt, it didn’t break off as it should have). We finally were able to set the last pier and then the construction can resume. We already have the framing complete and will start the internal structure tomorrow.

We’re just happy to NOT dig in the dirt tomorrow.
