Hardkott Pass

Today I always had planned to go cycling. Our neighbour though wanted to know if I fancied joining him on a hard route he had planned that went via Hardknott pass. 

This is not a climb I'd done before. For a start it is far away and secondly it is very steep. The climb proper is 2.2km long but the average gradient is 14%. It is not a constant gradient with many switch backs. The max gradient is 33%.

I managed to get up without stopping...just.
