Ribblehead Viaduct and Whernside
Storksrock says “the victorians were bonkers” to drive a railway through here with the amazing engineering it required. But impressive it is both close up and from a distance. We had not been up Whernside before and it is a lovely walk. A nice wide path on the top ridge where the slopes off the sides are much steeper than they look from below. The sun was in and out and we had snow followed by hail on the top but sunny in the end - the extra is a shot on the way down
