Mothers Day at the MIA
I haven't been to this museum in Minneapolis in about 18 months, give or take a few months. It was closed in 2020 due to Covid, and driving by it every week on my way to my internship was hard.
They have reopened on a limited basis, with ticketing required to keep space wide, people numbers low. I went for an hour or so to see the photographs on loan from Todd Webb, a photographer who in 1958 went to Africa just after a lot of countries like Ghana, Togo and Somalia had gained independence. He captured hundreds of imagesof the people, industry and culture. It was spectacular.
There was also an exhibit in one room that has disdain for the former President written all over it, all having to do with the failures, mistakes, narcissism, denialism and tragedy during Covid. Very impactful.
