My colleague Regine, who I last hung out with in Phnom Penh, has transferred to a role based out of the UK. We were both in the office today and at lunchtime sought out Asian food from a Thai stall at the market. Spicy noodles are a welcome interlude to any day.
I finally got an important piece of work sent off to the donor by staying in the office into the evening. I was planning to crawl back to the flat to decompress but fortuitously was enticed onto Parker’s Piece by other colleagues. We ended up eating more Thai food at a little restaurant that now occupies what was once probably a cricket pavilion. Fingers and toes became numb, the food was tasty and from our vantage point we were kept entertained by a police van that drove into the middle of the grass to disperse crowds of revellers, who were breaking the rule of six by a factor of about ten.
