Busy Bees

Despite the awful cold weather both hives of Brexit Buckfast Bees have managed to really fill up their box and as we are now fully into dandelion flowering, it was time to add a honey box on top with a grid to stop the queen getting into it to lay eggs.

Hopefully we get some good weather before the dandelions are gone as they are by far the biggest honey source in the entire year in our parts. Even better will be the apple fruit blossom starts shortly afterwards, and we have a frost free period.
