Lark Descended
Plan A was to go to RSPB Minsmere today. It was a lovely sunny day - just one problem: a howling wind. Instead Plan B was put into action. We went to Dunwich, from where Mr PB did one of our favourite walks - across Dingle Marshes to Walberswick and back along the shingle beach. Sadly this is a bit too far for me nowadays, especially with the strong wind in my face on the second leg, so I stayed in Dunwick and had a couple of short walks on the landward side of the shingle. There was plenty of activity, especially from a heathy population of Skylarks. I counted around a dozen, in just a few hundred yards. Some were singing their joyful song on high, but there were plenty on the ground amidst the coarse grasses.
