Our Black Forest cuckoo clock is in need of some attention as the cuckoo seems to have developed a mind of its own...

I have spent some time today trying to get Dad to consider walking a little further than he does.  He seems to be very down and is spending a lot of time resting his eyes and not using his legs.  Advice Blippers please - should I just leave him to do what he wants to do or should I try to get him involved in little tasks and activities - something I find hard?
