Black-tailed Godwit

I've used tihs bird recently but they are always spectacular and this one wanted to pose. Getting late in the season, they should be safely back in Iceland breeding by now but the northerly winds have held them - and many other birds - up.
A pretty average morning turned into a half decent afternoon and a stunning evening. Not summery I hasten to add with the temperature not rising above 10C.
Our plans to go to France have rather foundered on the rock of covid testing at present. It is hard though to keep track of the various changes happening.
