Disappointment & Happiness

SWMBO and I went to the Bluebell wood in Perthshire that we have been to a few times.
It was very disappointing as the flowers are at least a week later than usual (maybe two).
When we arrived there was lovely light through the trees - but gie few bluebells. The closest I got to the sort of shot I was after was this one.
A few of the old Beech trees have come to the end of their lives since we were there a couple of years ago and are no longer magnificent specimens but I was glad to see the one with the swing in it was still standing.
We did see a red squirrel though - but not close enough to photograph.

Because there wasn't really anything to spend time on and we were north of the Forth I gave Chopper Girl a call to find out if she was at work or free to meet up.
She was free and arranged to get timed tickets to get into the Japanese Garden near Dollar.
What a lovely place it is...and quiet. Although the likes of this guy was making quite a racket - until he got fed up and left. If you move on from there you will hopefully get a sense of what the place is like.
It is .......... AGES since we have seen Chopper Girl and it was great to see her.
