Gee Tee Eff

My Dear Princess, Loulou and Fellows,

I thought things were going too well.

I went into a Bumpaddle meeting today, on Bumpaddle day 8.

Remember the people with opinions? The people who never spoke to me? Or bothered to find out what I do? Or even enquire after me? Or know anything about my job?

Yeah. They know all about EVERYTHING. They know all about my job. They decided it is an unacceptable risk to the project that I'm leaving. And their opinions are WAY more important than mine. And they refused to listen to me when I tried to explain because OPINIONS.

A Moany Woman went on and on and ON. She wouldn't stop to take a breath or let me get a word in. And I could feel my blood boiling.

"I think we need to escalate this outside the meeting," said Other Project Manager. 

I did agree with him on that last point. I went back to my desk and escalated the EFF out of it.

"If the agreement made two weeks ago is not honoured, I will consider it a contract-breaking event," I wrote. 

"And I will contact my agent to terminate my current engagement at Kainga Ora with immediate effect."

How's that for a risk? C***s.

And.

SEND.

I was so angry. Apparently I scared Fazzy. "I've never seen you like that before," she said. "I didn't know if I was allowed to talk to you."

I gave her a hug. I couldn't be cross with Fazzy. 

Well THAT sent everyone into a panic. I didn't hear from Other Project Manager because he is missing a spine. But the two other managers involved rushed to reassure me that what was happening was COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE and I shouldn't worry and they were SO SO SOOOOO SORRY I'd been put in this position.

One of those managers was Gromit, naturally. She also got in touch with a senior manager to tell him how pissed off SHE was. 

The other said, "It is not up to the c***s what project you work on, it's up to me, and we will be sticking with the agreement." 

Then she gave me a hug*.

So I'm feeling reassured. All the same. Panadol. Whisky.
