Mystery Solved

Today I finally found where one of our ducks has been lying her eggs. We are fairly new to this, so we are not sure exactly what will happen next. How many she will lay before she starts sitting on them? Will they survive? Although they are well hidden, we have lots of crows, magpies and jackdaws and they regularly take the eggs if they are out in the open. We aren’t even sure which duck they belong to because unlike chickens they lay  around dawn. Given their colour and size we think they belong to Elsa our white Indian runner duck (see extras). The advice we have had is that once she starts sitting on the eggs we need to move her to somewhere safe like our duck house and leave her with food and water. The eggs will take 28 days to incubate. I’ll keep you posted on what happens.
