Birthday boy
I've been reminded that it is his birthday probably at least 100 times today - he has been very excited about it. He's a bit overwhelmed by his (rather nice) bike, it doesn't have stabilisers and I think he is a little intimidated by it, but we'll get him going and he'll get there. He's done a deal with his brother about when he can have the 'old' bike (I think he's trying to hang on to it for safety and comfort).
Turns out there are production 'issues' with cocoa powder, I only found this out after an emergency trip to the green shop as I'd run out. The shop assistant tried to convince me to use drinking chocolate, co-op had also run out, so I had to go full on posh for the requested chocolate (and strawberry) cake, made the old-fashioned way with melted chocolate, beaten egg whites, beaten yokes then blended together. I was reminded probably 100 more times that he needed a birthday cake.
Hot cholcolate at our local cafe, the eldest had asked to go out to dinner, but of course we can't quite do that yet.
Happiest of birthday's to my beautiful, thoughtful, kind, happy - slightly emotional, wonderful little boy.
Today I'm grateful for:
