Birds on Strings

Taken a few days ago above, an exhibit from the artworks and concepts that reflected the passions and influences of the Hopbarn hosts amongst which are, Birds, Music and Sound.
Crane: bird of Hope and Healing
Another theme was of the atomic bombs dropped on Japan and the influence on Dali. Sadako a child affected by the radiation started folding 1000 origami cranes in the traditional hope that her wish to live would come true, but unfortunately was completed by her friends.
It has come to symbolise hope and healing during challenging times and in this spirit Mrs Host offers each guest an origami crane that they may wish to give to someone affected by Covid. I was lucky enough that she made me a few including a case, pictured on our piano.
Extra background
In Japan, the crane is a mystical creature, believed to live for a thousand years and represents good fortune and longevity. The wings of the “bird of happiness” were believed to carry souls up to paradise. Mothers who pray for the protection of the crane’s wings for their children will recite the prayer:
“O flock of heavenly cranes
cover my child with your wings.”
Wellness
Focussing on strength through upper body Pilates, cycling etc has worked wonders for my shoulder. I'm pleasantly surprised at the speed that my strength is building, and how much easier my physio stretching homework is.
