Having a ball

A mad Saturday indeed, as we went to the APR-Rayon Sport derby at Amahoro. Unfortunately, entry to the stadium is...unsystematic, and we ended up in the middle of a tightly packed crowd of several hundred people waiting for a single gate to open. When it did, everyone began rushing forwards and the police - who has previously been keeping things in check with sticks, batons and a large leather belt - pretty much gave up on maintaining control. The result - a large and very dangerous stampede in a small space which amost led to a few people getting very badly hurt and nearly claimed my glasses. Far from ideal.

Thankfully, once we got inside, things were much calmer and we settled down to watch Rayon win 4-0. Not sure we'll be repeating the experience.
