Glasgow South Side

Appointment at the vestibular physio today in Newlands area of Glasgow.  Decided to have lunch in a little Cafe in Strathbungo called Gusto and Relish. First thing I saw was a young blue roan cocker called Isla who was such a friendly wee dog.  I couldn’t stop watching her as her mannerisms and friendly nature reminded me of Breagha.  The food and coffee was delicious and the two guys that owned it were friendly and helpful despite it being busy.  Such a nice area to live.  This postcode has a worrying outbreak of the Indian variant of Covid I just hope it’s contained.

The appointment was for an hour - assessment (one was watching my walk down a corridor.  Due to the balance issues I’m walking with arms straight, head tight and I’ve to swing arms and focus on a point on wall left then wall right then ceiling then floor while striding with arms swinging as normal) , exercises, literature to read and an in depth chat about how this has happened-  I liked Alison she was a no nonsense type who specialises in vestibular rehabilitation.  I didn’t realise it’s one of the top ten reasons why people visit the doctor (dizziness).  My next appointment is in one month time.

Caught up in a horrendous traffic jam on way home due to an accident - but was nice to be in the big city again.

Started on the exercises when I got home.  It’s basically trying to get the eyes and brain in sync again.

This pic is of a house on Cathkin Road Glasgow where my grandmother lived in the 1940s/50s with her 4 kids after leaving my grandpa and mum.  It was near the physio so we did a small detour.
