The end of the road

I didn't get the job.

I was told I had been an outstanding candidate, everyone had very much enjoyed having me there, and, very unusually, the HoD who called said he couldn't give me any specific reason I hadn't been successful but just that 'everyone had been different' and it had been a very difficult decision for them, which is why it took so long - which all translates as 'Blah, blah, blah, the successful candidate was 32 years younger than you'.

He also said that I was an incredible teacher and not to give up. Too late - time to face reality...
